Introduction

As part of our programme to install electric vehicle charging points (EVCPs) we have introduced a number of lamp column chargers throughout Merton.

To ensure that electric vehicles (EVs) can access the lamp column chargers, it is necessary to have a dedicated EV only parking bay adjacent to the lamp column in some locations.

The dedicated EV bays can only be used by electric or plug in hybrid vehicles whilst actively charging. In controlled parking zones (CPZs) the user must also have a valid permit for that zone to be able to park in the bay. The maximum stay is 12 hours with no return within 4 hours.

This page provides information on the batches of proposed EV bays which have gone through a statutory consultation. It also outlines those bays which have been successful and will proceed. If a consultation is still running, you are invited to comment on the proposals.
