Whilst caring can be rewarding, it can also be demanding and affect you physically, emotionally and socially. It is important you take care of your own health and wellbeing. Being healthy is not only beneficial to you but it also helps the person you care for too.

It is important to let your GP know if you are a carer so they can make sure you receive the right support and information, services and help. Many GP practices offer an online form to register as a carer, or you can talk to staff at your practice.
