To apply for a place at an academy, voluntary aided (church affiliated) school or independent school, you need to contact the school directly.
If your child is 3 or 4 years old, they are entitled to 15 hours a week of free education and childcare. You can get this at a school nursery or another provider. Find out more about free education and childcare for 3 and 4 year olds.

When your child can start Nursery
Children can usually start in a Nursery class from the start of the school term after their third birthday. However, some schools only admit children from the September after their third birthday, which provides a more settled learning environment.
