Coronavirus - updates to Terms and Conditions

  • The Coronavirus pandemic has not ended and the virus is still present in the population. It may be necessary to cancel and/or reschedule appointments and ceremonies at short notices due to changes in government restriction, or the need for our staff to self-isolate.
  • By booking at this time you agree that you understand and accept the risk of late notice cancellations or rescheduling.
  • The maximum number of guests that the room you have booked can accommodate is stated in the booking letter you will receive. However, due to the pandemic the number of guests may be varied without warning due to government guidance and guidance from Public Health England.
  • The minimum number of guests required to attend a ceremony is two. They must fully understand all that is said during the ceremony and act as the legal witnesses of the event.
  • No refunds will be offered to customers who are subject to restrictions in the number of guests due to pandemic.
  • There will be no right to reschedule due to guest or other pandemic restrictions, the normal rescheduling fees and polices will be in operation.
  • At the recommendation/instruction of the Government enhancements to ceremonies above the statutory minimum may be removed at any time without notice.
  • Face coverings will be encouraged to be worn by all visiting Morden Park House.
  • All those visiting Morden Park House are expected to keep a minimum of 2 metres from our staff at all times.

Number of guests at Morden Park House ceremonies

From the 19th July 2021, the country moves to Step 4 on the Road Map, our rooms will have the following capacities:

The Sheridan Room30 guests
The Lord Nelson Room40 guests
The Ewart Room 100 guests
The Gazebo100 guests

Please note that you are permitted 1 photographer or videographer in addition to the guest numbers. However, it is vital that this individual like everyone else must remain no closer than 2 metres from all staff members at all times.

The Gazebo, has the same number of guests as our largest room (The Ewart)  in case the ceremony needs to be moved inside the house due to bad weather.

Number of guests at other licensed venues in Merton

From the 19th May 2021, licensed venues in Merton are permitted to organise their guests as they see fit within the constraints of their licence. However, all persons must keep a minimum of 2 metres from the registrars at all times.

Days that we offer appointments to get married on

Weddings at Morden Park House will initially be available Thursday - Sunday only. We have decided to limit the days we offer weddings to Thursday-Sunday only. This is to allow us to more safely manage the numbers of customers in the building.

Extra guests outside

Only the maximum number of guests as stated can be admitted to the house and the courtyard. If more guests want to meet you in the public park after the ceremony that is fine.

Live streaming the ceremony

One of your witnesses is welcome to stream the ceremony and make use of the guest Wi-Fi, however it is sensible to provide a 3g/4g/5g back up as the signal is often not very strong. You will need to provide your own equipment.

We need to minimise contact between couples and our staff therefore we cannot allow our staff to handle your phones and cameras. You are welcome to take your own photographs or have your photographer do so of course.

Making sure you are safe to marry at Morden Park House

We have implemented a strict one way system through the building. This means that there cannot be any arrivals of brides and or grooms to the front of the house. Everyone must enter the house through the courtyard.
