Residential discounts
To claim a residential discount on funeral interment charges, you can provide any one of the following documents as proof of residency:
- bank statement
- council tax bill
- healthcare records
- rent book
- utility bill
Merton Heritage and Local Studies Centre may also be able to supply proof of residency. There is a fee for the research.
Help with funeral expenses
You could get a Funeral Expenses Payment (also called a Funeral Payment) if you get certain benefits and need help to pay for a funeral you’re arranging.
