Pay and play

Due to current Covid-19 restrictions, we are unable to take any bookings for the following courses at this time.

We will update this page when we can accept bookings.

Wimbledon Park Watersports Centre offers pay and play sailing sessions to members of the public. On our safe and easy accessible lake in SW19, there's no better deal in London.

Minimum age for all activities is 8 years old and must be confident in the water

There is a minimum number of people required to book, so please tell your friends! 

Terms and conditions 

 

Wednesday adult sailing

Free sail for adults over the age of 18 years old with safety cover

Check availability and book

  • For those who can sail unassisted
  • £30 per person, per session
  • Wednesdays 10am -1pm
  • March - November

 

Family racing (sailing)

For those who can sail unassisted and wish to improve their skills through race training

Check availability and book
  • Parent and child racing sessions
  • Open to sailors over the age of 8 years old who are able to rig their own boat, launch and sail round a triangular course and recover from a capsize unassisted.
  • £60 per group of up to 3, must include at least 1 adult and 1 child (aged between 8-16 years)
  • Thursday 6pm - 8pm
  • 7, 14, 21 and Regatta on 28 May 2020

 

Thursday family sailing

Free sail for families with safety cover

  • For those who can sail unassisted
  • £50 per group of 4, must include at least 1 adult per 3 children
  • Thursday 4.30pm – 6pm
  • June - July

 

Thursday adult sailing or windsurfing

Free sail for adults over the age of 18 years old with safety cover

  • For those who can sail unassisted
  • £30 per person, per session
  • Thursdays 6pm – 8pm
  • June – August

 

Paddlesport Club

Fun and social group lead paddling session
Check availability and book

  • Usually a younger crowd, so adults bring your friends
  • £20 per person, per session
  • Available slots made regularly, so keep your eyes peeled

 

What to bring

  • Proof of payment (showing us confirmation email on phone is sufficient)
  • Clothes suitable for the weather conditions (no jeans), including waterproof jacket
  • Old trainers (something secure, not crocs, flip flops or wellington boots)
  • Towel and sun protection
  • Complete change of clothes, you may get wet (shower facilities are available)

 

Cancellations

  • No refund or alternative times will be given
  • Courses will only run if sufficient numbers are booked in advanced
  • A full refund will be given if a course is cancelled by the Council, you will be contacted in advance of the course start date with the options available at that time.

Driving

Sat nav post code SW18 5NW takes you to McCluskey's newsagents, on the corner of Revelstoke Road and Elsenham Street, just outside the park.

There is a small pay-and-display car park by Revelstoke Road, but it is often full.

Free car parking is also available at the Wimbledon Park Road entrance (sat nav SW19 6PE). It is a slightly longer walk across the grass to the Watersports Centre.

During the Wimbledon Tennis Championships there is no vehicle access to Wimbledon Park for dropping off and collecting. These parking restrictions may be enforced before the start and after the end date of the championships. Please check the All England Lawn Tennis website for specific traffic restrictions.
