If you are on a low income and need help paying for school uniform please contact your child's school to find out what support is available.
We do not provide school uniform grants, but many schools offer grants, sell nearly-new uniforms or operate discount schemes.
Each school has its own uniform policy that sets out what uniform is required. This is normally found on the school website or in the school prospectus.
You may be eligible to receive support with your uniform costs if you receive certain benefits. To check that you are receiving all the benefits you are entitled to, use the GOV.UK benefits calculator or visit the Turn2us website.
You may also be able to get an interest free budgeting loan (GOV.UK) to help with costs.
Your local Citizens Advice Bureau may also be aware of some local funding that could help towards school uniform costs.
