Merton and Sutton Joint Cemetery

The cemetery opened in 1947 and is approximately 20 acres in size. It is multi-faith and multi-cultural, catering for Church of England, Roman Catholic, Muslim, Ahmadiyya Muslim, African Caribbean, Jewish, non conformist and humanist burials.

There are public toilets and a public waiting room at the entrance to the Cemetery.

 

New graves

New graves are only available in the Lawn, Semi-Lawn and Cremated Remains sections. A new cemetery extension has been completed which will provide new lawn style graves for a further 20 years. All graves are dug for two burials. Graves can be dug deeper on request for an extra charge.

The Chapel

The Cemetery has a Chapel that can be used prior to a burial. It is suitable for all faiths and beliefs.

The chapel has seating capacity for 96 people and 50 standing as well as wheel chair access. It also has an electric organ, music system and a hearing induction loop available.
