Funding awarded by Merton Council

Merton Council produces a voluntary sector funding database on an annual basis. It is published as part of the council's commitment to the local voluntary sector to provide the community with information on the council's funding agreements and ensure the council is transparent around the organisations that it funds.

Over the past six years the council has provided funding of over £70 million to the voluntary sector, and has increased the level of funding for the third year in a row. Over the last year funding has been provided to support holiday clubs for children with disabilities, care for vulnerable adults, projects to tackle social isolation as well as community theatres. Almost £1 million was allocated to address increased need and support residents impacted by the coronavirus pandemic. Funding was also allocated to offer housing related support and tackle climate change. This shows the council's continued recognition of the vital role that the voluntary sector plays in the borough and the services that it provides. A number of the voluntary, community and faith organisations that have received funding are providing those services in some of the more deprived parts of the borough as part of the council's priority to bridge the economic gap between the east and west of the borough.
