We licence individual parts of the highway, usually referred to as 'designated sites'. These are either single stalls or small clusters of stalls outside of market areas.

Locations

We have sites in:

  • Lower Morden
  • Raynes Park
  • Wimbledon Village
  • Wimbledon Town Centre

In Wimbledon we have two main town centre locations, Hartfield Market and St Mark's Place.

Running from Hartfield Road car park to The Broadway, between Robert Dyas and Morrisons, Hartfield Market is one of the newest trading sites in the borough.

St Mark's Place, located between Wimbledon Library and the Alexandra Public House, is one of our oldest trading sites, whose pitch numbers have recently been increased to accommodate more traders.

Catering vehicles and food businesses

Designated sites also include catering vehicles, with the majority of these located in industrial areas such as Weir Road, Willow Lane and Lombard Road although there are some in Wimbledon town centre.

As with all food businesses in the borough, designated sites must be registered and are subject to periodic inspection by our Environmental Health team. For details see Registration of Food Businesses.

How to trade from a designated site

To trade from a designated site an annual street trading licence is required. We post details of any available pitches on our vacancies page.

Other sites

Prospective traders can also apply for a location they find themselves. We ask all traders to approach us directly before submitting an application so some pre-assessment of the site can be undertaken before a full application is submitted.
