Formal Consultation - May 2007

Merton Council is proposing to introduce 'at any time' waiting restrictions in Lincoln Avenue and its junction with Seymour Road.

Since the implementation of the existing parking restrictions in Lincoln Avenue, the Council has received written requests from some of its residents and their Residents’ Association asking for additional restrictions to be considered, due to the current access problems caused by obstructive parking. The Fire Brigade (LFEPA) has also expressed their concerns in a letter sent to us highlighting the problems and associated potential risk.

These yellow lines will restrict parking at all times, with the exception of loading and unloading of goods permitted for up to 20 minutes.

How to make your views count

We urge anyone who is either in favour or against the proposal to make their representation in writing to the Head of Street Management, Merton Civic Centre, London Road, Morden, Surrey, SM4 5DX by no later than 7 June 2007, quoting reference ES/SGE/LA01. Anyone who opposes the scheme must state the grounds on which their objection is made. We also welcome letters in support. Please note that responses to any representation received will not be made until a final decision is made.

What happens next

The outcome of the consultation, along with officer’s recommendations will be reported to either the Head of Street Management or to a future Street Management Advisory Committee.

Once a decision is made you will be informed accordingly.
