Wimbledon Park School Street extension – Lucien Road

Update – November 2023

Following the completion of the statutory consultation to include Lucien Road (between Gordondale Road and the cul-de-sac) within the Wimbledon Park School Street in February 2023 under an Experimental Order, a decision has been made to make the Traffic Management Order permanent and retain the school street restrictions.

In 2020, a school street was introduced to include Havana Road and Wellington Road. At the time, it was not realised that the gate to the nursery is located in Lucien Road. Due to reports of obstructive parking and congestion caused during pick up and drop off times, we are  including Lucien Road within the Wimbledon Park School Street. This is being implemented under an Experimental Order which means the scheme is being introduced during the statutory consultation allowing residents to experience the scheme prior to making an informed opinion. The statutory consultation will be open for 6 months.

All representations must be made directly to us. Please complete our survey to let us know your views by 20 August.

If you do not have access to a computer please submit your representation in writing to Future Merton, Merton Civic Centre, London Road, Morden, Surrey, SM4 5DX and use ES/SS/2023/Lucien/WimbPk

A response will not be made until the consultation is concluded and a final decision is made which will be no later than 18 months from the date of the Experimental Order. All the results, Cabinet Member reports and decisions will be published.

The new restrictions will come into effect at the start of the school’s new term on 20 February 2023.
