Eligibility

To be eligible for the voucher you must have been getting Council Tax Support on the 30th September 2023. If you were not getting CTS on this date you are not eligible but there may be other support available to you. Please see the Cost of Living support page for advice and support.

Getting your voucher

If you have not received your voucher, please check the following information:

  • Were you getting Council Tax Support on 30 September 2023? You can check this by logging into your My Tax and Benefit account and check the dates you have been awarded Council Tax Support. If you do not have a My Tax and Benefit account, you can use the link to register. This account gives you 24 hour access to your Council Tax Support awards and bills.
  • If you are sure you were getting Council Tax Support on that date, email householdgrants@merton.gov.uk. We will check our records to see if you are eligible for a voucher and email the outcome of the check within 10 days of your enquiry.

Missing voucher

If you have already emailed us to report a missing voucher and then receive your voucher, please let us know as soon as possible – we may not have cancelled the voucher and we can tell you if you can still redeem it. If we have cancelled the voucher, we will replace these once a week.

Once you have received your voucher

  • Please do not damage or deface your voucher. The Post Office will not cash them.
  • Vouchers cannot be redeemed more than once.
  • Vouchers expire on 28 January 2024 and will not be replaced. Any unspent vouchers will be diverted to other areas to assist those residents who have applied to Merton or our partners, for financial help.
  • Any unspent funding from the Household Support Fund will be returned to the Government.
  • Only one voucher will be issued per household.
