Based on a very recent update on the school’s hours, it has been agreed that the existing hours of school restrictions will remain unchanged. The statutory consultation on changing the hours have now been abandoned. The permanent Traffic management Order was made on 20 January 2022.

Aragon Primary School - February 2022

Following Scrutiny meeting on 18 January 2022, it was agreed that the Cabinet Member’s decision to make the school street permanent can be implemented. Although within the Cabinet Member report it was proposed to change the hours of the existing restrictions, upon further consideration and based on a recent update on the school’s hours, it has been agreed that the existing hours of school restrictions will remain unchanged.

A Cabinet Member decision has been made to make the School Street restrictions permanent.

Although within the Cabinet Member report it was proposed to change the hours of the existing restrictions to 8.00-8.45am and 3.00– 3.45pm upon further consideration and based on a recent update on the school’s hours, it has been agreed to retain the existing hours.

Further proposed change to hours of operation – July 2022

The previous statutory consultation that was carried out during March 2022 has now been abandoned. Based on further discussions with the school it has been agreed to change the existing hours of operation to 8.00 - 9.15 am  &  2.30 – 3.45 pm school term time only. To facilitate this change the Council will be undertaking a statutory consultation staring on 28th July 2022.

The existing hours of operation continue to be valid until the hours are changed subject to the outcome of this statutory consultation. Restrictions apply during school term times only and the contravention is for entering the affected roads during these restrictions without an exemption. However, motorists can leave at any time. 

Following the completion of the statutory consultation carried out between 28 July and 19 August 2022 to change the hours of operation for the school street, a decision has been made to change the existing hours to: 8.00 -9.15 am & 2.30 – 3.45 pm Monday – Friday term times only.

The new restrictions will come into effect on 5 September 2022

Following the completion of the statutory consultation carried out between 28 July and 19 August 2022 to change the hours of operation for the school street, a decision has been made to change the existing hours to: 8.00 -9.15 am & 2.30 – 3.45 pm Monday – Friday term times only.
