Statutory consultation May 2017

In May 2016 the Council converted the Valley Gardens area (North Gardens, South Gardens and Valley Gardens) from the CW CPZ to the CW2 CPZ to improve parking conditions in these roads. Unfortunately, the Council has continued to receive complaints from residents concerning the lack of available daytime parking, with current difficulties appearing to be due to parking by CW2 business and traders permit holders.

As a result, to further prioritise parking for the sole use of CW2 residents and their visitors, it is proposed to amend the current bays in CW2 CPZ from permit holders to resident permit holders only, excluding business and traders permits.

A Notice of the Council's intention to introduce this change will be published in a local paper (The Guardian) and the London Gazette. Representations in regards to the proposals described in this Notice must be made by email to trafficandhighways@merton.gov.uk or in writing to Future Merton (Traffic and Highways Team 9th Floor), Merton Civic Centre, London Road, Morden, Surrey, SM4 5DX.

Representations must reach the Council by no later than 26 May 2017 quoting reference ES/CW2Permits. Objections must relate only to the elements of the scheme that are subject to this statutory consultation.

A copy of the proposed Traffic Management Order, proposal plan and the Council's Statement of Reasons can be inspected at Merton Link, Merton Civic Centre, London Road, Morden SM4 5DX during the Council's normal office hours Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm.
