Are you new to the sport? Or do you want to develop personal paddling skills you already have? we can create a bespoke session for you.

One to one paddling tuition

Minimum booking, £90 for a 90 minute lesson

  • 1:1 paddling lesson with your own instructor
  • Variety of crafts to choose from

A gentle way of learning the basics of paddling either in two man kiwi kayaks, Canadian canoes, single kayaks and Stand Up Paddle boards (SUP).

A great opportunity to improve your confidence before embarking on a holiday trip, expedition or adventure, such as a multi-event challenge.

One to one sailing tuition

Minimum booking, £90 for a 90 minute lesson

  • 1:1 sailing lesson with your own instructor
  • Variety of boats to choose from
  • Will be sailing solo (instructor will be teaching from another craft)

For those who are new to sailing or who have already learnt to sail but feel they need to brush up on their skills. Learn to sail in single-handed boats such as Pico's or Topaz's. An excellent opportunity to get afloat and build confidence or to work through the Royal Yachting Association (RYA) levels to learn and improve your skills.

For those with limited mobility the Access Dinghies can be used.

Available for introductions or recapping on skills, a minimum of 2 hours is recommended to get the maximum benefit.

Prerequisites

  • Minimum age for this course is 10 years old

What to bring/other important information

  • There are currently no changing or shower facilities available, access to the Watersports Centre building is only in the case of emergencies

  • Weather appropriate clothing (no jeans), include a waterproof jacket and hat

  • Old trainers needed for the water (something secure, not crocs, flip flops or wellington boots)

  • Sun protection
  • All participants need to arrive ready changed in suitable clothes for the weather conditions, having already visited the toilet and washed their hands. The toilets in the Watersports Centre building will only be available for participants at the end of their sessions.
  • Please arrive no more than 5 minutes before your scheduled session time, registration will take place outside of the centre.
  • Only the participant (and guardian(s) for those under 18) can enter the Watersports Centre operational area, all spectators are welcome to watch from the public benches.
  • It is the participants responsibility if they have been in contact with a confirmed Covid-19 case to self-isolate as recommended by the government, current guidance.
  • We have undertaken new protocols to mitigate the risks of Covid-19 at the Centre, but all participants (and guardians/bookers for those under 18) must take responsibility for the decision on the risk of attending.

Driving

The Revelstoke Road car park will be out of use from Monday 13 July - Friday 18 September, the only car park that will be available to use is the Wimbledon Park Road one (closest to Southfields) and is currently free (sat nav SW19 6PE) then a short walk across the grass to the Watersports Centre.

During the Wimbledon Tennis Championships there is no vehicle access to Wimbledon Park for dropping off and collecting. These parking restrictions may be enforced before the start and after the end date of the championships. Please check the All England Lawn Tennis website for specific traffic restrictions.
