The Jan Malinowski Centre is a day service for adults with a learning disability in Mitcham.
The centre is designed to meet the needs of people who may have complex needs and need a higher level of support.
There are different spaces within the centre where people can take part in fun and meaningful activities tailored to meet their needs. We also have lots of green space for outdoor activities.
Activities
We have arranged the activities to match the levels of support needed.
- Watercress: are sessions for people with mild to moderate learning disabilities. They include baking, keep fit, pool, cycling, swimming, community trips and more.
- Special care: are sessions for those who have additional care and support needs because of health-related conditions, sensory impairments and profound learning disabilities. Some of the activities we provide are music, story time, sensory activities, intensive interaction, community trips and more.
- Willows: is a service for adults who need a higher level of support, who may have challenging behaviour. Activities we provide include, intensive interaction, cycling, keep fit, art and craft, and community trips.

How to apply for a place
You are welcome to spend a trial day at the centre to help you to decide if the Jan Malinowski Centre is the right place for you. If the placement is agreed, there will be a 3-month trial period.
