Dundonald Primary School expansion progress updates

Dundonald Primary School expansion: progress updates Updated 10 December 2015

Building work continues, the structure is complete and the roof is being built. Connecting to the original school building was slightly more complicated than first thought. We are working to make sure the Phase two building is completed in August for the new school year in September 2016.

There are three main phases of construction works:

Phase one – complete

The children's public playground is now open but it is only two-thirds of its final size. As you can see from this plan, when the existing recreation ground pavilion is demolished the children's public playground and multi-use sports courts will be extended. However, this will not happen until autumn 2016 when the school extension and replacement pavilion facility is completed.

The multi-use sports area (tennis courts) is now open. There are currently two courts with a third being built.

Phase two

We have started phase two of the building work. This plan shows areas open and closed to the public.

The contractors aim to complete this phase in July 2016.

Phase three

The existing pavilion will be demolished. This will allow the children’s public playground, multi-use sports area and green gym to be completed.

The contractors aim to complete this phase by October 2016.
