We have development partners who develop good quality accommodation for our residents.

Housing associations manage approximately 11,000 properties in Merton. They are a very important source of accommodation for us as we have nomination rights to many of their properties when they become vacant. They also provide shared ownership and intermediate market rent opportunities. Housing associations are also responsible for a number of new developments planned in the borough.

How properties are let

Housing Association properties are let through our choice based lettings scheme.

This means that available properties are advertised through a web site provided by Home Connections and customers can "bid", or express an interest in them. Customers with the highest priority as assessed by the Council's allocation scheme will be offered the property.
