Council tax e-billing and other formats

You usually get sent your council tax bill in the post in April each year, but you can ask to receive it by email or in a different format.

E-billing

E-billing is a faster way to receive your council tax bill. It also saves on paper and reduces our printing and postage costs.

Sign up to receive your council tax bill by email or through My Tax and Benefits, our online account system.

If you receive your bill in the post and you’ve lost it, you can get a duplicate in My Tax and Benefits

There’s no barcode on e-bills so you can’t use them to pay at Paypoint outlets or Post Offices. When you sign up for e-billing, you’ll still receive bill reminders, final notices or summons in the post.

Other formats

If you’re having difficulty reading your bill, you can ask to receive it in:

  • audio CD
  • audiotape
  • braille
  • diskette
  • large print
  • another language
