Be a Councillor event

Do you want to influence the way local services are provided? Have you thought about getting more involved in the community? Have you considered becoming a councillor?

Whether you are a parent, a student, retired, in a fulltime job, run your own business, or anything in between - all sorts of people become councillors, so why not you?

On 16 March we are holding a remote event at 6.30pm for anyone interested in standing for election in 2022. You will have the opportunity to find out more about the work of councillors, ask questions about the election process and informally speak to council staff and councillors about the role and what support is available.

Book your place by emailing democratic.services@merton.gov.uk. If you can’t attend the event, but would like to learn more what being a councillor involves, you can visit http://www.beacouncillor.org.uk/
