Eastern Electrics Festival 2019: information for residents

On Saturday 3 and Sunday 4 August 2019, Morden Park plays host to the Eastern Electrics festival. The event is expected to attract up to 20,000 visitors on the Saturday and 10,000 on Sunday.

Information about the event

  • Event opens: 11am
  • Event closes: 10.30pm Saturday, 10pm Sunday
  • Location: Morden Park

Travel arrangements

Most attendees will be travelling via the Northern line to Morden. Expect trains to be busier than usual, especially up to 4pm and around the event end times.

Road closures

The access road to the park will be closed to enable the safe entrance and exit of pedestrians from the site (with access maintained until 9pm on both days of the event).

A lane closure will be in place on London Road (A24) for the exit of pedestrians from 8pm to 11.59pm on both event days.

York Close will have a road closure in place with residents access maintained from 8pm to 11.59pm on both Saturday and Sunday.

Waste clearance

The event organisers have a waste management plan and have appointed a contractor to clear up the park, surrounding roads and pedestrian route to the park. Our own contractors are aware of the increased footfall in Morden and will tailor their resources appropriately on Saturday and Sunday.

Noise control

The event organisers have hired independent noise consultants to be present at the event to carry out monitoring, and we will also have two officers from our own Environmental Health Pollution team present throughout the day.

Noise nuisance information

The event security is provided by Specialized Security a company with considerable experience in managing security for similar electronic dance music events. There will be both internal and external response teams dealing with any issues that may arise inside and outside the event.
