Merton's residents value their high street as part of their local community.
They want to maintain the increased sense of community brought about by the pandemic and want high streets to be a destination where they can spend time, meeting family and friends, rather than just popping in to buy groceries.
Businesses, like Metronome behind me, want to create that environment too and developing the high streets of the borough is also well and truly on the council s agenda. We want to support local businesses as much as our residents do.
We've created Merton Local, a dedicated app to connect residents with the exciting independent businesses we have throughout the borough. There may be deals on offer and a calendar of local events is included.
