Please be advised of proposed works for a shared-use path for pedestrians and cyclists alongside Croydon Road between Carshalton Road and the Borough boundary with Croydon. The works will be funded by TfL and construction works are scheduled to be completed in April 2016.

The path will be 3 metres wide and will run parallel to the carriageway along the northern side of Croydon Road. The existing kerb-line will be built out by approximately 1.5 metres into the carriageway and 1.5 metres into the Common. Material will consist of a typical black top surface but with stone chippings on the surface which will be naturally buff to grey in colour.

During construction 2-way traffic will be maintained to minimise the impact of the works.
The speed limit will be reduced from 40 mph to 30 mph during the works and it is also proposed to reduce the speed limit to 30mph on a permanent basis upon scheme completion.
