School crossing patrols

We have six school crossing patrols or ‘lollipops’ as they are affectionately known, based at various approved school sites in the borough. The patrols are on site to help children and other pedestrians cross safely. Parents are responsible for ensuring that their children obey the 'lollipop' when crossing.

School crossing patrols can legally stop traffic on the road. If you do not stop stop when the sign is displayed, penalties include a £1,000 fine, 3 penalty points or disqualification.

School crossing patrols needed

We are currently recruiting school crossing patrols for Abbotsbury School site in Morden and for another school site in Wimbledon. We offer:

  • term time working only
  • £3,998 per annum
  • full uniform and training
  • support of the road safety team
