Pre-learner driving skills

We offer a free "pre-learner" driving skills course to 17-24 year olds who live, study or work in the borough. There is some flexibility on age if space is available so ask us. The aim is to promote positive driving attitude, hazard awareness and safer driving skills.

Course details

The course consists of a three hour theory session at Merton Civic Centre with presentations from the Metropolitan Police, Blakes driving school and Road Safety. The practical element is in the form of 3 free driving lessons with Blake's Driving School. You must have your current provisional licence to attend. These popular sessions are offered through the year.

Please note that once you submit the application form on-line, you will receive notification of a place on the course subject to having met all the criteria to attend, which includes you either living, working or studying in the borough.

Once we receive all applications please be assured that these are being looked at, however due to the high volume that come in, this can vary from time to time, they are all held in our mailbox and allocated in date order.

You can only attend this course once and receive your free driving lessons. If you have attended in the past you will not be eligible to qualify for the free driving lessons.
