Garth RoadReuse and recycling centre, Garth Road, Morden

The Reuse and Recycling Centre at Garth Road, Morden is available for Merton residents to drop off their waste for reuse, recycling or disposal to landfill.

This service is free to Merton residents and is primarily accessible by car.

If you are a resident with a van or trailer there is a restriction of up to 250kgs of waste brought in every 6 months, and a charge will be made to dispose of any waste in excess of this limit. For separated recyclables, no charge applies.

Identification

You must bring proof of address (such as your driving licence, Residents Pass or recent council tax statement) to prove you are a Merton resident.

Opening times

  • Open 8am to 4pm, seven days a week for cars.
  • Closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Years Day.
  • For residents in vans and with trailers, there will be no access into the centres:
    • from 1pm on Saturdays
    • all day on Sundays
    • all Bank Holidays.

If you are at all unsure which container to use, please ask a member of staff on site who will be able to assist you.

Items that we cannot accept

There are some items that we cannot accept at our reuse and recycling centres. This list is not exhaustive but includes:

  • Waste not defined in law as "Household Waste" such as vehicle parts including tyres.
  • Trade Waste - this is waste created or resulting from any form of employment or commercial enterprise undertaken by a resident.
  • Oil based paint and chemicals

Reclaiming abandoned trolleys

Abandoned trolleys are stored here after we collect them.

Trolleys are available for inspection and claiming on Thursdays between 10am and 12 noon.

The trolleys will be stored for 10 days and then, if not claimed by the owner, will be disposed of and recycled.
