Morden Park House interior columns and staircaseGrade II* listed fine 1770 house in extensive grounds built for John Ewart on part of the Morden Hall Estate, now the Borough Register Office.

The building was recently restored with the help of the Heritage Lottery Fund. The interior has a number of contemporary features including a marble paved entrance hall,a grand imperial type staircase with wrought iron balustrades and other contemporary fitments.

Open House London 2009

Open House London logo silver keyThis building has been opened to the public during the annual London Open House event. This is a unique London event that takes place across the capital over a weekend each September. It provides public access, completely free of charge, to buildings of architectural and community interest across the Capital.

Merton's participation provides a splendid opportunity to visit some older and newer buildings of special interest in the borough.

September 2009 opening times

Sunday: 10am - 1pm. Interactive/multimedia tours available. Last entry 12.30pm. Max 50 at one time.
