Finding information

There are four main ways that you can find information on this web site:

  1. The home page
The home page is the first page you see on your screen when you go to our web address: www.merton.gov.uk. When you are on another page of the site, you can always return to the home page by clicking on the Merton Council logo or the word 'Home'.
  2. Browsing the main sections
This site is divided into twelve main sections: Advice and benefits, Business, Community and living, Council and democracy, Education and learning, Environment and planning, Health and social care, Housing, Jobs and careers, News and events, Leisure and culture and Transport and streets.
  3. Search
Use the search box to look for certain words on the website. The search box is in the top right hand corner of every page. Just click where it says "Type keywords" and type the word(s) you are looking for. It is best to use one or two key words rather than a long sentence. Then click the "Go" button to the right of the box.
  4. A to Z Directory
The A-Z Directory lists all the information relating to Merton Council's services, in alphabetical order. Click on the first initial letter of the service you require. For example, if you want to find information on planning applications, you may choose to click on the letter 'P' for planning, or perhaps 'A' for applications.
