Merton's Unitary Development Plan (UDP), adopted in October 2003, was part of the statutory development plan for the borough.
The policies within Merton's UDP were superseded gradually between 2007 and 2014, with the final remaining policies, and therefore the entire UDP, being superseded by the adoption of Merton's Sites and Policies Plan on 9 July 2014.
Status of all UDP policies as at November 2012 - updated from the adoption of Merton's Core Planning Strategy (July 2011) and the South London Waste Plan (March 2012)
On 27 September 2007, the Secretary of State issued a Direction which decided that 12 policies from Merton's UDP are no longer required or have been replaced by national policy or the London Plan.
From 27 September 2007 the twelve policies listed below should not have been used to help determine planning decisions.
