Community Plan

Merton's Community Plan is the overarching strategic plan of the Merton Partnership. It sets out the Partnership's long term vision and priorities for the borough. The original Community Plan was agreed in 2006, and refreshed in 2009 to ensure it remains up to date and in line with residents' priorities. The Plan covers the period 2009-19.

The refresh of the Plan has been led by the Partnership's thematic partnerships, using existing consultation, and carrying out new consultation where necessary. The plan will be refreshed again in three years time.

Community Cohesion Charter

The Community Cohesion Charter was launched along with the original Community Plan in June 2006. It outlines the Local Strategic Partnerships commitment to promoting community cohesion across the borough and building good community relations to achieve a strong borough, more resilient to negative external influences that may arise. The charter commits members of the partnership to working to make Merton a place where everyone can benefit from improved life opportunities and outcomes; where residents experience improved standards of living; and where learning, cultural and leisure opportunities are enjoyed by all in safe and accessible environments. The charter supports the Community Cohesion Strategy.
