Action in MertonPolice

Action in Merton (AIM) is an initiative to make Merton a safer, cleaner and healthier place for all. It is a partnership approach looking to make a real difference to local communities in a short period of time. Local residents and the Safer Merton partnership will work together to identify key issues affecting their area, and bring in services to address them.

AIM is a series of activity days to address local concerns including:

  • Environmental issues
  • Crime and anti-social behaviour (ASB) issues
  • Preventative health
  • Fire and other safety issues

AIM events in 2012

Four Action in Merton events will take place across the Borough in 2012:

  • Around South Wimbledon tube station and Merton Industrial Park in Abbey ward on Thursday 24 May
  • Phipps Bridge in Cricket Green ward on Thursday 21 June
  • Lavender Fields ward on Thursday 19 July
  • Around Wimbledon Town Centre on Thursday 20 September

Each event will be preceded by a 'walkabout', at which the Council and its partners will walk around the areas to find out first-hand about local problems or concerns that could be dealt with on the AIM days.  Members of the public are invited to contact the council to inform us of any such problems, for example, graffiti or fly-tipping by emailing us at getinvolved@merton.gov.uk or calling 020 8545 3857.

How can I benefit from AIM?

The state of our streets and where we live affects how we think of our local area. Getting rid of graffiti and rubbish, having greater confidence in our services and being a healthier and stronger community all make us feel safer and good about where we live.
