Local support 

Wimbledon Business Climate Challenge – in partnership with local business improvement districts (BIDS), the Mayor of London is providing extensive no-cost support to businesses to save on energy. Wimbledon BID is a named ‘Engagement Partner’, therefore businesses in and around Wimbledon can apply for support that saved participants of the 2021 scheme on average £8300 over 9 months.

National and regional support 

Energy 

Beat the Energy Crisis - The Mayor of London’s Better Futures Programme are offering grants, free access to a carbon calculator, support in creating a tailored carbon reduction plan, free energy audits and much more to help businesses reduce energy usage and bills. 

Boiler Upgrade Scheme - Running until 2025, the Boiler Upgrade Scheme (BUS) is a UK Government initiative to encourage more people in England and Wales to install low carbon heating systems. It is open to homeowners, as well as owners of small business properties.  

The Recovery Loan Scheme supports small and medium sized businesses to access the finance they need to grow and invest. Finance can be used for any legitimate business purpose, including investing in energy efficiency projects.

Transport 

The Workplace Charging Scheme Grant - The grant covers up to 75% of the total costs of the purchase and installation of EV chargepoints (inclusive of VAT).  

Journey Cost Calculator  - Use the Journey Cost Calculator to discover the savings you could enjoy by switching from a petrol or diesel car to an electric vehicle (EV).   

Freight and Retrofit Advice  - Advice and support to businesses who are looking to make their freight fleets more efficient and introduce electric vans and e-cargo bikes.

High streets beyond waste: Grants and Workshops - Join one of ReLondon’s ‘Get Started workshops’ to explore ideas for your business that will help you reduce waste, cut costs, generate revenue and increase customer satisfaction, and have the chance to apply for a grant of up to £10,000 to bring your ideas to life. 

Energy Savings Trust – Visit the Energy Saving Trust for advice on everything from energy efficiency to low carbon transport. 

Pension divestment – Scrutinise your pension provider and trustees to understand how their fund managers are investing your employees' pensions funds. Are those investments aligning with net zero, or are having adverse environmental and social impacts?  

Employee engagement – Run an employee engagement programme to raise awareness about sustainability and inspire action among colleagues to change behaviours, or make more environmentally friendly corporate decisions.
